Float your cares away at True REST Float Spa

Now open in RedStone, True REST Float Spa offers physical and mental benefits.

Owners Doug Centola and Mike Shoniker decided to open their second True REST location in Indian Land after realizing they had a lot of customers that were traveling from the area to their Charlotte location.

Centola and Shoniker are friends from college and both moved here from New York. “Mike saw a video featuring Steph Curry talking about his positive experience with floating,” shared Centola. “We were both skeptical at first but began doing more research.”

After each floating 3 or 4 times, they both experienced what they call “The Magic Float,” where they really started feeling the benefits of floating. They wanted to share their experience and decided to open up a location of their own through True REST, a franchise based in Arizona.

“We’ve had a great response in Indian Land so far,” says Shoniker. “50% of our customers come from word of mouth.” They shared that their Charlotte location is the busiest in the country.

What to expect:

There are 6 private rooms that each hold a shower and a float pod. After showering, customers enter their float pod which is filled with 1,000 pounds of magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) in 10 inches of body-temperature water. The Epsom salt is what allows you to float.

The user can use choose their lighting preferences and either hook up your own music or listen to one of their playlists.

The 60-minute session includes a zero-gravity environment with sensory deprivation. After your float, customers are welcome to hang out in the Oaisis room and enjoy the oxygen bar (additional fee), sip on a cup of tea, or journal about their experience.
